It Happened to Me

I had been working on something for so long, praying to God about it, waiting for His answer, longing to hear from Him in that small still voice.

I asked for a sign, but there was nothing. Over and over I asked and prayed, yet nothing came. No small still voice that I was going in the right direction.

I wanted to give up! I felt angry. I told God I felt abandoned by Him. And just as those thoughts were going through my mind, His small still voice floated over me ... "I will never leave you or abandon you."

God interrupted my disparaging thoughts with His words of promise. He heard my pleas and prayers. His words gently settled over me and I felt peace. His peace, joy and promise replaced the dark doubting thoughts I had earlier! Praise my God for He is good and faithful.
